運用会社にてリーガル業務を担当していただきます。

To provide legal services to this company’s business and activities in Japan. Responsibilities can be divided into the following categories: (i) negotiation and drafting of investment management related agreements; (ii) negotiation and drafting of all other legal contracts/agreements including vendor agreements, SLAs, etc.; (iii) providing advice regarding regulatory and other legal issues liaising with external legal counsels, regulators, self governing associations, etc.

The role will also involve (i) instruction and ongoing management of external counsel; (ii) advising generally on a wide range of commercial matters including employment, and commercial work (e.g. IT contracts and other contracts with suppliers), (iii) assisting in providing in-house training sessions on legal issues.

Fluent Japanese and English speaker essential. Bengoshi (not essential, but would be advantageous).
Candidate should have experience or knowledge of the Japanese regulatory regime (FSA) and relevant laws including Financial Instruments Exchange Law, Investment Trust Law, Commercial Law, Labor Law, etc. Familiarity with investment products, fund structures, derivative documentation, and investment management generally is preferred. In addition, the successful candidate should ideally have some general company/commercial experience. Excellent drafting skills required, together with ability to handle a broad financial services and related commercial caseload.

Good communication skills, willingness to learn and cultivate good working relationships with clients and be flexible.

Good command of English in writing and speaking.
