We are currently seeking a high-calibre economist for our expanding Japan macroeconomics team to be based in our Tokyo office. We offer a rewarding work environment with room for career progression and a competitive salary.

＜Key Responsibilities＞
●Support the Japan team by collecting and organising data, preparing charts and tables, and producing presentations.
●Liaise with senior team members in the production of thematic research reports and other analytical tasks.
●Help with regular economic forecast and production of reports on Japan and other APAC economies.
●Aim to provide real-time, value-added analysis on key economic and policy developments in Japan and APAC in due course.
●Interact and answer queries for Oxford Economics’ clients in a timely manner.
●Support sales staff through client and prospective client meetings and model demos.
●Perform other duties as requested.

＜Requirements＞
●Undergraduate degree in economics (preferably honours), a graduate degree or previous working experience are a plus.
●Strong presentation and writing skills native-level fluency in Japanese is required.
Highly motivated, with a desire to develop skills and expertise required to build a career as an economist.
●Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
●Strong analytical skills, experience with quantitative analysis and statistical/programming software (e.g. EViews, R, Python etc.) preferred.
●Ability to work effectively with teams across different offices and respect tight deadlines.
