Platform Engineer will be serving as the key support model between Software Engineering and Infrastructure Engineering teams. Team members in this job family will use their broad range of technical skills across multiple disciplines to support key platforms of our Japan information technology. While there is specialization in some fundamental technologies, cross-functional skills are instrumental to a successful team member in this job family.
Experienced technology professional managing, designing & supporting multiple components of the technology platforms.

Key Accountabilities
●Support and Troubleshooting
Provides first/second level troubleshooting, technical and operational support and will escalate when appropriate

●Technology Review & Recommendation
Leads the evaluation of new technologies relative to their domain(s)

●Performance Management/capacity management
Makes recommendations to ensure optimal performance and reliability for mission critical enterprise platforms

●Platform Design
Works independently, with limited guidance, to design environment low to medium complexity

●Process Automation
Works independently, with limited guidance to automate tasks around system management, deployment and/or monitoring

●Platform Provisioning
Plans and implements infrastructure per prescribe specifications

●Release Engineering
Executes, coordinates, and plan platform level changes as part of Release Management

Critical Skills/Knowledge
●Technical Expertise
・Skilled in database: oracle / ms sql
・Demonstrates emerging proficiency in multiple facets of the designated technology platform and can independently evaluate and resolve most problems
・Possesses solid understanding of the current technology environment and security controls
・Developing understanding & usage of distributed systems, cloud technology, virtualization and security methodologies.
・Builds expertise in designated technology platform while also developing knowledge of emerging technologies and adjacent technology platforms
・Consistently applies Platform Engineering principles and best practices to solutions delivery efforts
・Delivers consistent platform level automation solutions as part of mid to large scale platforms level delivery
・Autonomously executes mid level Platform tuning activities and delivers system and process efficiency improvements
・Independently delivers on multiple aspects of Application Performance Management monitoring

●Business knowledge
・Understands the structure and processes of the QRG Technology organization, including the roles of team members and the information and/or resources they may require.
・Demonstrates thorough knowledge of business processes/functions pertaining to area of focus.
・Develops basic understanding of the retail industry
・Understands the impacts of regulations, laws and company policies, standards and procedures to their role

・Capable of working independently on most tasks within platform vertical.
・Can troubleshoot and provide break-fix resolution for majority of problems across the platform.

・Provides input into technical design. Assists in resource estimations.

QUALIFICATIONS
Indicate education, experience and any additional traits required to be successful in the role.
Education: BS in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience
Experience: 3+ years of related experience
