The role holder will be a member of the Global Investment Specialists (GIS) team.
Operating between Investment and Sales/Clients teams, the GIS team is an integral part of Distribution and ensures that, in each asset class, we deliver 1) insightful and relevant investment information, 2) credible client facing PM proxy resource and 3) strategic client-led input into investment and product development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To work closely with the relevant Multi-Asset management teams and also with the various client, sales, product, marketing and operations teams within the organisation to assist the achievement of agreed sales objectives in both quantum and product focus. Specifically:
To work closely with the Multi-Asset investment teams to ensure the transfer of Multi-Asset investment knowledge to the generalist sales and client teams.
To operate as an Multi-Asset “PM proxy” externally to assist in the pitching for new business or in the portfolio reviews for clients and their consultants.
To represent the commercial interests of the Multi-Asset Investment team within and outwith Distribution and to ensure that client led intelligence is fully reflected in internal thinking across the Multi-Asset franchise in order to drive future Multi-Asset commercial strategy

CORE OUTCOMES
Engage with distribution teams globally to grow the Firm’s AuM with clients, prospects and consultants alike. Actively promote Multi-Asset product and solutions by overseeing the preparation of tailored materials and working with the RFP team to ensure RFP’s responses are of the highest quality and to edit existing materials and prepare new answers to specific questions. Ensure consistency of approach globally while ensuring messaging is ‘fit for purpose locally’.
Participate in new business pitches and client reviews where appropriate. Articulate investment philosophy, process, products, solutions, risk and respective views of relevant investment teams. Identify and communicate the strengths of each proposition, ensure consistency of key messages.
Ensure that distribution understands, is, and remains fully aware of the company’s Multi-Asset capabilities and local sales team engagement is undertaken alongside deep, independent market research so each local market and the factors for success and clearly understood.
Work closely with the relevant investment, product and distribution teams in order to help develop attractive Multi-Asset related products and solutions.

Education
University degree (majoring in Economics/Finance preferred) or other relevant professional qualifications

Experience
Deep Knowledge of Investment markets and relevant products
A clear understanding of the drivers of investment distribution success
A strong working knowledge and experience of working within an Multi-Asset environment
A thorough knowledge of key competition and the competitive environment for Multi-Asset
A good working knowledge of the legal and regulatory provisions associated with the role
An in depth knowledge of business processes and procedures as well as the compliance and legislative environment in which Aberdeen Standard Investments operates
