Leader of a team within a larger unit/function with members who possess common skill sets with similar objectives and serve a single client area. Responsible for team development and resource coordination.
Role Responsibilities
●Typically manages a single team of technical contributors providing maintenance and operational support and/or the development and implementation of new systems and technologies that are relatively straightforward in nature, such as those supporting a single process or function and relatively few technology platforms.
●Provides the technical oversight and leadership necessary to accomplish work.
●Provides input to financial and people resource plans for the area. Ensures resources are in place and operating effectively within the technical discipline.
●Develops work plan and priorities for their area, based on objectives received.
●Makes hiring recommendations.
●Responsible for all performance-related activities, including performance reviews. Provides input to compensation decisions.
●Develops portfolio roadmaps to convey the current and future state vision and status of their portfolios.

●Delegates technical decision making to appropriate levels in the organization while continuing to provide oversight and guidance.

●Possesses an understanding of the client areas supported including their functional processes, business objectives and organizational dynamics.
●Understands ours business and how the work within their team impacts and supports the business.
●Developing an awareness of best practices in the technology industry as it relates to their work
Communication/ Contacts
●Partners with clients to identify technology requirements and provide solutions.Develops strong relationships with clients and team to develop solutions.
●Is seen by business partners as a key resource to escalate problems and to receive guidance and complete solutions.
●Communicates highly technical information to business partners and junior team members.
●Leads the effort to engage external contract personnel.
Project Role
●May manage projects or initiatives, within their technical discipline. This typically includes:
●Executing established plans for initiatives.
●Ensuring resources and organization structure are in place and operating effectively.
●Anticipating conflicting needs and proactively resolving them.
Decision Making
●Assigns work, monitors work quality, reviews output and ensures that team members are equipped to successfully deliver the work of their area.
●Manages work assignments for team members.
●Makes hiring recommendations.
●Assists leadership in the area of resourcing.
●Is accountable for achieving budget objectives for team.
Experience and Education
Typical candidates will possess relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Advanced degree highly desirable.
●Possession of currently maintained security certifications including one or more of the following is highly desirable: CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CISM, GSLC, CEH, GISP, CCSP
●Familiarity with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, the U.S. Sarbanes-Oxley Act, PCI-DSS, the European Union Privacy Directive, and the Japanese Financial Instruments and Exchange Law (""J-SOX"")
●Solid IT experience, with direct exposure to information security duties or in a supporting role with security responsibilities (e.g. infrastructure, apps dev etc.) Experience managing teams both local and remote.
●Experience working in a large corporate environment, preferably with multinational, distributed teams and complex systems.
