Objectives
-The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the professional management of all accounting and group reporting matters. Responsibilities will include preparing the accounting records and financial statements, reporting of financial information, business planning, cash flow management and statutory matters. This position will report to the CEO and be based in Tokyo. The person will have a secondary reporting line to the regional CFO.

Primary Responsibilities
・Financial Accounting & Reporting - overall responsibility for all accounting matters:
-Maintain statutory accounting records in compliance with local Japanese Accounting regulations (J GAAP), including capturing of all transactions (sales, purchases, salaries, provisions, etc) in the accounting software package, preparing month-end reconciliations, etc.
-Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with local statutory requirements.
-Reporting of financial information under IFRS as per Group reporting requirements.
-Managing the company bank accounts, including making payments on the banking platform.
-Liaise with the external auditors to ensure that the audit is completed timeously.
-Project and cost centre based accounting for financial analysis and project controlling.
-Implementation of new accounting software.

・Business planning/ forecasting and liquidity management
-Prepare company budgets and forecasts.
-Prepare company cash flow forecast.

・Statutory requirements: Ensure that the company complies with all statutory/ regulatory requirements, including:
-Company tax declarations, certificates, etc
-VAT returns
-Social security obligations
-Other statutory requirements

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes
-Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting ,
-CPA qualification/ candidate preferred.
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
-Good knowledge of Japanese GAAP, experience in reporting under IFRS will be beneficial
-Good to advanced skills for Excel and MS Office
-Good to advanced skills for local accounting software
-Good communication skills
-Fluent in Japanese and English
-Ability to work in a team, self-organised and disciplined
-High level of professionalism and attention to detail
