The role reports into the Japan Global Markets CAO/Head of Japan Global Markets Strategy. The role covers across this company’s Global Markets businesses in the region as well as involves collaborating across regions on broader global initiatives and involves providing active, ongoing support to this company’s Head of Global Markets. Key responsibilities include:
・Provide analytical support and thought leadership expertise on Global Markets’ strategy initiatives, with a focus on strategic development, long term business growth, and overall positioning
・Stakeholder Management including supporting stakeholder relationships, proactively managing conflicts, issues and risks, and engaging on relevant levels
・Identify, analyze and monitor issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity
・Conduct competitor/industry research and analysis leveraging both public and non-public sources
・Research and analyze business profitability and macroeconomic indicators, analyze specific client segments, conduct inorganic screening, perform strategic due diligence
・Prepare management presentations including business plans, business reviews, offsite presentations, town halls
・Work closely with Global WS COO and Global Wholesale Strategy team on broader firm-wide initiatives

Candidate should have 4+ years’ experience in a strategy or CAO/COO role, ideally in peer bank or a consulting firm or a strategy/business planning unit of a financial institution
・Strong analytical skills, including ability to develop financial models and perform data analysis
・Strong PowerPoint and Excel proficiency
・Problem solving and creative thinking skills a key
・Strong communications skills (verbal and written) in English and Japanese (strong preference) - ability to interact confidently with senior business leadership on a range of topics
・Interest in the wider Investment Banking and Capital Markets industry including key trends and market dynamics including Market Structure, Fintech, Regulations
・Ability to work on multiple projects and initiatives
