About the Role

The Team is a rapid growth business that is responsible for bringing ESG products to multi-national corporations and financial institutions. Our services include green/social/sustainability bond second-party opinions, annual compliance reviews, and other services that provide the independent assessment our clients need to raise capital for green and social impactful projects. Job Responsibilities

• Support the execution of green/social/sustainability bond Second-Party Opinions. This requires working on multiple projects
• Over time, engage with issuers and underwriters regarding the assessment of their bond/loan Framework
• Over time, build knowledge in sustainable debt financing, including current and emerging trends, issues, drivers, risks and opportunities, key players, best practices, the regulatory landscape, etc.
• Develop sustainability knowledge and expertise across a variety of themes and sectors;
• Liaise with and develop relationships with colleagues across global teams and offices
• Prepare well-written and high-quality client deliverables (both in English and Japanese)

Qualifications

• Strong ability to critically analyze client frameworks (e.g. Green Bond Framework) and assess them in light of market expectation and industry standards
• Strong research skills and ability to synthesize external data and insights
• Excellent business writing skills (both in English and Japanese)
• Passion for sustainability and demonstrated interest in sustainable finance and green bonds
• 3-5 years of related work experience
• Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment, engineering and/or social sciences)
• Client-centric and commercial approach
• Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn in a constantly evolving and fast-paced environment
• Alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision, and values
• Positive attitude, innovative, and entrepreneurial
