Director in Finance and Accounting Group (“F&A”), who can oversight the day to day operations.
F&A consists of two functions:
1)Financial Accounting (SPC Accounting)
2)Managerial Accounting
Hotel processes book closing using an independent accounting system as a general ledger and provides month-end financial and non financial data to Financial Accounting team. Financial Accounting team is responsible for keeping track of actual data from hotels in Sun Accounting system (“system”) and book closing for investment vehicle such as TMKs in the system. Financial Accounting team also processes contributions and distributions requirements.
Managerial Accounting team works closely with members of Asset Management and SPC Accounting teams in order to diligently maintain accuracy of financial data such as Hotel Budget, Hotel Forecast, Business Plans, Management Plans and Underwriting information in the Sun Accounting system. Managerial accounting team also keeps controls and processes to import and export financial data in/from the system to meet periodical and ad-hoc investor reporting requirements for hotel investments. Managerial Accounting team also monitors contributions and distributions requirements.
Director oversights and effectively coordinates these two functions in day to day operations.

＜Key Responsibilites>
The successful candidate shall take responsibility for and / or assist in all or part of the following:
Understand deal structures and financing scheme
Understand entire reporting requirements for financial and business purposes
Manage and supervise 8-10 staff and provide guidance to F&A members in day-to-day operation
Help controller/manager to communicate and provide guidance to hotel financial controls from reporting perspective to maintain the consistency in reporting throughout entire hotel portfolios.
Lead assistance to provide financial information from the system for semi-annual and annual business plan models for investments in company’s Japan hotel platform.
Form an effective conduit role between F&A and Asset Management Group

Demonstrates strong leadership
Self starter and problem solver
Demonstrates strong communication skills as well as presentation skills
Demonstrates strong hotel accounting and fund accounting skills
5-8 years experience in the hotel or real estate investment with a respected institution.
Excels at working within an institutional, leading organization that demands excellence without being micro-managed.
Capable of successfully integrating within the Morgan Stanley culture.
Must be a team player that demonstrates maturity, perseverance, ambition and possess a keen entrepreneurial sense.
Strong interest and experience in hotel investment and operation businesses
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong hotel accounting knowledge required.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Must be fluent in English. Bilingual Japanese National preferred.
