As the Japan Chief Compliance Officer, you will lead developing compliance model required for a Type I business operator in Japan. With a deep understanding of Japanese institutional and retail asset management/mutual funds and a proven track record in the strategic planning and creation of effective compliance solutions, you will be part of the creative start-up process of the business in Japanand help us create a forward thinking compliance culture. You will be responsible for ensuring that the operations and the technology our team is developing offer industry - best compliance functionality, security and transparency for audit purposesand is built to meet the demands of the future.

Work with the Group compliance team to develop compliance programs in line with our company
Creation of internal controls and procedures
Monitoring and analysis of applicable regulatory requirements and best practice
Provide regulatory training
Work with software developers to maximize automation and innovation of compliance functionality
Regulatory filings for regulated entities in Japan (FSA, JSDA, etc)
Ensure effective ongoing compliance with Japanese securities regulations and SRO rules and requirements.
Review of regulated external communications including website material
Report appropriate information to senior management
Liaison with Japanese regulators

Bachelor’s degree with an outstanding academic record from a reputable university
5+ years comprehensive compliance experience in Japanese assetmanagement/ fund distribution business
3+ years’experience inType I business of marketing and selling securities/mutual funds strongly preferred
JSDA Internal Control Administrator qualification would be viewed strongly
Current CCO role or proof of necessary proficiency for a CCO role
Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of management
Experience working with software developers in defining system requirements
