Company is a highly respected, equity investment boutique based in London.
It strives to identify valuation anomalies and invests where the market price does not reflect a company’sestimated intrinsic value, seeking to unlock value through constructive engagement with management. its flagship Japan investment fund investsin small-cap overcapitalised listed Japanese companies.

・Seeking to hire an experienced Investment Analyst to join their Japan team. The Investment Analyst will primarily report to the Head of Japan Research, alongside the Chief Investment Officer.
・Will serve to support the team on the Japan investment strategy: assisting the Japan team on research and engagement campaigns, and contributing to the overall enhancement of the investment team’s work.

・Native Japanese language skills and Japanese cultural experience are essential for the role. The candidate must also be proficient in English.
・We are looking for a candidate who has gained at least three years’ work experience and who is a confident communicator with experience in engaging, consulting or advising Japanese companies.
・Candidates will be expected to have a good working understanding of public equity markets and fundamental company valuation. This includes the ability to value a company using a variety of methods, convey theinvestment thesis to other members of the team and strategise ways to work with company management to improve the value of an investment.
It is unlikely that candidate will have the required level of expertise to be successful without having at least 3years of experience in a similar role, ideally from an investment bank or consultancy firm. A backgroundgained in a corporate advisory role covering M&A, restructuring, sales of divisions etc. is desirable.
