<Job Purpose>

The Investor Relations Director is an integral part of Investor Relations team in Japan and in Asia region, which is responsible for developing and maintaining strong, long-lasting partnerships with investors.
This role is part of this global Investor Relations team of 60+ professionals.

<Job Responsibilities>

Primary responsibility for developing and maintaining client relationships with Japanese investors including institutional investors, investment advisors, placement agents, consultants, private wealth
managers, high net worth investors, and other industry peers.

・Primary point of contact for any inbound communications, queries and requests, including sharing regular updates on quarterly reporting, transaction activity, other firm or fund updates,etc.
・Catch up face-to-face with key client contacts (i.e. portfolio managers, investment analysts,Head of Asset Class, CIO, etc.) on a regular basis typically several times each year for each individual to maintain and further cultivate relationships, in order to help facilitate future re-ups and any other fundraising opportunities noting our company’s client base includes LPs across multiple prefectures and cities, thus requiring regular domestic travels, typically at least twice or three times per month.
・Arrange for periodic in-person catch ups with Japanese consultants, advisors, GPs and other relevant contacts to stay up to date on developments in the local landscape.
・Expand relationships by getting to know multiple individuals at each firm, across different levels of seniority and function. This requires arranging meetings on a regular basis across the
organization to allow these interactions to occur.
・Be the face of our company in Japan this role is the main contact point and conduit for any investors or other market participants who wish to engage with our company and thus requires an experienced, senior and engaging person to manage these interactions, including regular in-person encounters.

Contribute to our company’s fundraising campaigns across all private market strategies/products.
・Lead all outreach activities for the region and arrange in-person introductory meetings to establish new relationships with prospects, with a view to building them over time via numerous face-to-face interactions to familiarize our company to prospects.
・Arrange roadshows for our investment team members across Private Equity, Infrastructure,Private Credit, and Real Estate to travel within Japan to meet with existing clients and prospects, typically 5-10 times per year, depending on fundraising cycle for any given strategy and the level of demand from Japanese investors.
・Demonstrate to Japanese investors that our company is committed to the region and servicing clients to the highest standard by being present and available for ad hoc meetings and catch ups.

・Passion to deliver outstanding solutions to professional investors.

・Knowledge of key issues affecting institutional investors, from both an investment and a regulatory perspective, and how to explain them.
・High motivation to support the growth of a leading private markets investment firm.
・Keen interest in investments, with a basic knowledge of private markets (CFA/CAIA is a plus).
・Reliable, proactive team player.
・Strong undergraduate degree from a top-tier university.
・Fluency in Japanese and English (verbal and written).

<Education and Experience>

・8 to 10 years of relevant work experience with emphasis placed on private assets, investment advisory, or capital raising in an investment orientated environment.
・A proven track record for raising capital and established network of investor contacts in Japan.
・University degree (MA/BA) in Business, Finance or Economics.
・Domiciled in Japan.

<Communication Scope>

・External: communications with Japanese institutional investors, investment advisors, placement agents, consultants, and private wealth managers on a quarterly or ad-hoc basis for reporting and
relationship building for fundraising.
・Internal: communications with internal teams (i.e. Product Team, Client Solutions Team) to address client reporting and/or inquiries.
