More than ever, business is about interpreting and reacting to complex data - and they look to us for advice and services they can trust every time. You’ll use your professional skills and experience to make it happen, handling complex accounting and finance process issues across a broad range of industries and responsibilities. You won’t find an assurance culture like this anywhere else, so whether you’re looking for a long-term, or are interested in progressing on to other areas, this is a great place to be.
The opportunity
You will be a professional member of our Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team. In Japan, our FAAS team consists around 200 dedicated financial reporting and accounting advisory professionals. We combine technical accounting skills in IFRS, Japan and US GAAP, practical experience in financial reporting processes as well as deep sector and regulatory knowledge.
In particular, you will be part of the transactions team in FAAS focusing on cross-border transactions and US listings. This is a challenging role working with some of the world’s largest companies and offers an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to the dynamic world of international capital markets. The opportunity to join the team is therefore one for whom only the highest performers will qualify.
Your key responsibilities
Lead teams on cross-border transactions projects, involving IPOs, M&As, and also support with SEC filings
Deliver technical accounting advice under both US-GAAP and IFRS across wide range of client sectors
Researching application of accounting standards, review financial and governance processes, accounting framework transition, comparison of different company practices, and develop and provide tailored training
Prepare proposals and take part in business development activities to expand the practice
Develop and coach junior staff and seniors with a mind for inclusive and diversity
Establish and maintain relationship with client management
Maintain cooperative relationships and foster mutual support with other service lines
