仕事内容
We are seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to support credit decision-making and credit risk management for OTC transactions across Japanese power, LNG, coal, crude oil, and related energy portfolios.
The primary responsibility of this role is to perform timely and accurate credit assessments and manage counterparty credit risk, thereby controlling potential losses arising from counterparty defaults. The Credit Risk Analyst will work closely with Front Office, Legal, and Risk Management teams, providing practical credit support for trading activities and contract negotiations.
Key Role Responsibilities
Credit Assessment
Perform detailed credit analysis of counterparties based on financial statements, qualitative information, industry outlooks, and market conditions
Assign and maintain internal credit ratings, including qualitative notching and regular reviews
Determine, review, and monitor credit limits, trading conditions, and collateral requirements
Assess and propose actions for transactions that exceed approved credit limits
Analyze counterparty portfolios and concentration risks
Support credit decision-making and present credit assessments to Credit Committee members
Liaise with external information providers and rating agencies as required
Credit Risk Management
Monitor counterparty exposures, credit utilization, and credit capital consumption
Prepare credit risk reports and share relevant information with internal stakeholders
Review and enhance credit risk management policies, procedures, and internal guidelines
Support default scenario analysis and response planning in the event of counterparty credit events
Review contract terms from a credit risk perspective, in close collaboration with Legal and Front Office teams

●Key Qualifications and Experience
Language:
Business Level in English (spoken and written) is Mandatory required.
Native Level in Japanese (spoken and written) is Mandatory required.
●Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
3 to less than 10 years of experience in Credit Assessment and Credit Risk Management.
Hands-on experience in credit assessment of corporates, including SMEs
Strong understanding of financial statements and corporate credit analysis
Familiarity with internal credit rating methodologies and external rating agency frameworks
Skills & Competencies:
●Technical & Professional Skills
Solid understanding of credit risk concepts, including exposure, credit limits, and default risk
Experience in preparing credit evaluation materials and credit risk reports
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Soft Skills
Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions independently
Strong task management and execution capability
Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with stakeholders holding diverse viewpoints
Ability to explain complex credit logic and risk assessments clearly, both in writing and verbally, to senior management and committees
Comfortable preparing documents and presentations in English
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in credit risk management within a trading or energy-related business
Language:
