This mid-senior role leads the technical design and coordination of data centre projects from due
diligence through commissioning and operational handover. It requires strong expertise in missioncritical mechanical infrastructure, design management, and independent decision-making aligned
with the company’s Basis of Design and regulatory standards. The role partners closely with internal teams,
consultants, contractors, and clients to deliver technically robust, commercially sound, and
operationally sustainable solutions.
Project Delivery & Design Oversight
Lead mechanical design coordination and support construction delivery for new data centre
facilities and major upgrade projects.
Drive integrated mechanical design solutions aligned with project milestones, budget, and
quality standards.
Support the development of project schedules, cost estimates, and risk assessments related
to mechanical systems.
Site Due Diligence & Development
Assess land suitability for data centre development from a mechanical infrastructure and
utilities perspective.
Conduct comprehensive technical due diligence during site acquisition, evaluating cooling
capacity, water availability, redundancy strategies, and infrastructure constraints.
Mechanical Systems & Technical Expertise
Design and review critical mechanical systems including cooling infrastructure, chilled water
systems, CRAH/CRAC units, containment strategies, and redundancy configurations (N, N+1,
2N).
Support tenant onboarding by evaluating mechanical infrastructure capacity and integration
with tenant requirements.
Address increasing cooling density requirements in high-load environments through scalable
and resilient system design.
Stakeholder & Contractor Management
Act as a key technical interface with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure
alignment on mechanical design intent and execution.
Collaborate closely with construction, operations, procurement, and commercial teams to
ensure coordinated project delivery.
Drive technical discussions with general contractors to ensure milestones, documentation,
and handover requirements are achieved.
Clearly communicate mechanical design requirements, risks, and decisions to internal and
external stakeholders.
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
