This role sits within the Tokyo Bond Middle Office which is part of Global Middle Office. The Middle Office provides trade management and first-line support for bond/repo related bookings for the Japan trading desks. The Middle Office works closely with the Front Office and all other support functions to enable the business to grow in a controlled environment.
Responsibilities: ● The successful candidate will be required to understand bond and repo products, booking processes, and downstream interaction with settlement systems ● Reconcile Front Office trade booking against the recap and/or blotter to ensure accuracy of trader’s PL and risk ● Work closely with all the support functions (Settlements, IT, Collateral etc.) to provide full operational support to the Front Office and play a central role in managing the front to back trade flow ● Resolve any booking issues that arise and work closely with Settlement teams

Finance and Solutions Group (Capital Markets) covers FIG(Financial Institutions Group), SSA(Serial Storage Architecture), Public/Municipality and Corporates as clients. As products, we cover almost all Debt primary products such as Straight Bond, Subordinated Bond for both domestic and global issue. We also cover various New Issue related business such as Swap transaction.
The current team is expanding in order to meet the demand in servicing the client(s) in Japan. Therefore we are looking to hire young talent who can support capital market transactions that deal with a wide range capital market products, from debt to equity, to the platinum account(s).
Communication and Trade Surveillance (CTS) is responsible for identifying potentially unusual transactions and inappropriate business activities. CTS therefore monitors trade data and electronic communication and also handles enquiries from regulators. Surveillance is a key function to monitor and correct employee’s conduct.
The surveillance quants role is responsible for taking the initiative in implementing the advanced self-service analytical capabilities and automating manual processes that in turn will reduce operational risk and improve review quality with proper IT planning and prioritization.
The role will entail the design and implementation of risk-based surveillance models to establish an analytics function to identify suspicious trading patterns.
It is also expected for the position to proactively communicate with Technology and various counterpart inside and outside of Compliance to define, prioritize, and lead various initiatives. There are a lot of opportunities to co-work with offshore colleagues and supervisors.
