【Department Overview】
The Data Management Technology (DMT) team is responsible for supporting the Group Data Office (GDO) by providing technology services underpinning the firm’s capabilities across the data management framework including data discovery, findability, governance, clean-up and access. Based in Tokyo, this position will be part of a globally distributed team and be responsible for the development and Level 3 support of in-house built and third party data management applications.

【Responsibilities】
●　Development lead for the DMT team in Tokyo
●　Work ‘hands-on’ with Functional Leads across DMT to build, integrate & support new and existing global enterprise solutions
●　Partner with GDO members to understand their application requirements
●　Line manage a small team of developers to deliver technical solutions to meet those requirements

【Mandatory】
●　Bachelor’s degree in Computing, Math or Engineering discipline
●　Proven track record delivering technical solutions in a complex global environment
●　5+ years development team leadership and line management experience
●　A minimum of 8 years of total development experience
●　6+ years of Java development experience including recent hands-on Core Java(v.6 or later)
●　2+ years of Python development experience
●　Experience working with offshore teams
●　Strong English communication skills, verbal and written
●　Experience building/maintaining data lakes and big data Hadoop based platforms
●　Experiencing developing applications for public/private/hybrid clouds
●　Experience with Messaging Systems such as Kafka, Solace or Pulsar
●　Experience with distributed computing frameworks ex. Apache Spark
●　Experience with Zookeeper
●　Experience with Linux/Unix Shell Scripting
●　Proficient in writing complex SQL (on SQL Server, Oracle or similar databases)
●　Experience developing high availability, multi-instance, -component, -threaded systems
●　Strong understanding and working knowledge on DevOps

【Preferred】
●　Experience in Financial Services Technology
●　Experience on AWS Cloud
●　Experience with Docker and Microservices
●　Experience with NoSQL databases
●　Experience with Apache Spark
●　Experience with Snowflake/ Dremio/ Deltalake
●　Experience with Restful APIs and GraphQL
●　Good understanding of Data Security
●　Good understanding of application and data architecture

【Other Comments】
●　Japanese language skills beneficial but not required
●　Flexibility for regular late/early conference calls with US team is expected
●　Desire to drive change through automation, APIs and self-service models
