We are looking for a mid-to-senior-level developer to join our Tokyo-based Risk and P&L team. The candidate will initially be working on the Rates Pricing Service system, critical to Rates trade booking and RFQ systems. The candidate will also be involved in the development of the “Onyx Risk and P&L” system, which provides intraday risk and P&L for flow rates traders globally covering both cash and derivatives. This will involve working closely with traders to provide enhancements to the systems with fast turnaround but high resilience. Most of the coding will be done on the server-side and will therefore require good analytical knowledge and the ability to program Java in a multi-threaded environment. There will also be some Python programming involved.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong, intelligent programmer to gain exposure to a front-office environment and work closely with the business. Additionally, given the relatively lean and fast-moving organization, the person will gain responsibility and a broad range of experience very quickly. The role is within Our Wholesale IT (Rates) department, based in Tokyo.

●Responsibilities
・Work as part of the global development team, contributing enhancements and bug fixes.
・Interpret requests for new functionality, and document the resulting requirements for inclusion in the prioritization process.
・Provide 2nd level support assistance to the Production Support team, to enable effective and timely support of the production environment.

●Mandatory
・A self-starter and a technology enthusiast willing to learn new technologies
・Strong Java skills with at least 2-3 years of experience in server-side Java development.
・Excellent debugging and problem solving skills
・Team player, able to work effectively within a global team
・Good command of oral and written English

●Preferred
・Strong fixed-income/rates business and product knowledge
・Experience with Gemfire and/or ActivePivot welcome.
・Experience with AWS welcome.
・Experience with Python and/or .NET programming welcome
・Japanese language skills welcome, but not mandatory
