Job/Group Overview：
Unity Trade Processing (UTP) team is responsible for managing firm’s strategic, cross-asset global trade processing platform and applications. Platform is highly distributed, scalable and robust (available 24x7) with real-time replication across 3 regions - Asia, Europe and America. It has a large user base (3,500+) across the globe from many business streams e.g. Rates, Credit, FX, Exotic.
UTP development team is spread across 4 locations - London, New York, Shanghai and Tokyo.

Looking for a passionate senior core java developer who has worked on large, complex, distributed, multi-threaded enterprise systems (server-side but not J2EE), and has experience with developing containerised apps/micro-services in kubernetes in private/public cloud.
Excellent interpersonal skills, multi-tasking, fast turnaround, working independently and performing well under pressure - are some of the key requirements for this role.

Successfully candidate will join UTP team in Tokyo and will work closely with other regional UTP teams, business users, business IT teams and support teams across the globe.

This is a very challenging role that provides an excellent opportunity to work on local, regional as well as global IT solutions using latest tools, technologies. Candidate will also learn about various front office trading business flows in Fixed Income space.

Responsibilities：
・Application development/enhancements manage and take full ownership of the assigned tasks/project including user engagement, release planning, post release testing etc.
・Work closely with business users & business IT teams propose, drive and deliver technical solutions to meet their requirements
・Work on platform stability and maintenance e.g. automate support, release, deployment and other RTB tasks
・High quality deliveries within the expected timeframe (e.g. documentation, code/test coverage, code review, testing, post-release checks) and adherence to the Our compan/team SDLC procedure/policies
・Provide 2nd & 3rd level production support work with production support teams on day to issues/queries/releases, ensure it get resolved/addressed in a timely manner without causing any outage.

Requirements：
Mandatory qualifications

・Strong core java (JDK 8 or above) programming skills experience in developing large-scale server side multi-threaded distributed applications or components.
・2 or more years of experience in developing, building and deploying containerized applications/micro-services in kubernetes managed environment in on-premise or external cloud platform e.g. AWS.
・Working experience with using tools/technologies like Consul, Buildpacks, Flux, HELM, LOKI, ELK, Eureka, Ansible, Jenkins pipeline, Gitlab, Apache Camel, Gradle, Maven etc
・Working knowledge or application development experience with C or C++. Candidate must be comfortable with making changes, compiling and building C/C++ applications in Linux environment. If no experience with C or C++, but should be willing to learn and contribute
・Self-starter, quick learner with excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills - able to independently handle tasks/projects as well as coordinate/manage communication with stakeholders/other teams.
・Fluency in English read, write and speak


Highly desirable qualifications

・Experience with enterprise event and message streaming platforms e.g. Apache Pulsar, Kafka
・Experience with caching technologies e.g. Redis, Gemfire!
・Fluency (read, write and speak) in Japanese language - a huge plus!


Investment Banking/Finance knowledge is good to have but not mandatory.
